NOFOM SERIES IS THE THE RESULT OF A CARBON FOOTPRINT RESEARCH IN THE FIELDS OF FASHION AND FURNITURE PRODUCTS. THE FASHION INDUSTRY IS ONE OF THE WORST POLLUTER WORLDWIDE, CREATING A HUGE AMOUNT OF WASTE DUE TO OVER CONSUMPTION OF CLOTHING. THOSE FABRICS END UP BEING DOWNCYCLED TO OTHER PRODUCTS WHICH ARE THROWN AWAY AFTER USING THEM ONCE AND THE INCINERATION OF THE TEXTILE WASTE WILL ONLY BE POSTPONED.
THE GOAL WAS TO DESIGN FOAM FREE UPHOLSTERY FURNITURE USING TEXTILE WASTE PRESSED INTO A MOULD AND CREATE A CIRCLE WITHIN THE DOWN CYCLING PROCESS. THE IDEA WAS TO REDUCE THE MATERIAL VARIETY AND CONSTRUCT THE FURNITURE AS SIMPLE AS POSSIBLE IN ORDER TO SEPARATE THE SINGLE COMPONENTS IN CASE OF DISPOSAL.
THIS PROJECT WAS SHORT LISTED AT "Design Parade Hyères 2020 - 15th international festival of design".
